‘Fintwit’ is a term that refers to a group of people who like to talk about money and stocks on social networks, soprattutto Twitter.
Così, in questo caso, “FinTwit influencers” are a group of people who used podcasts, e chi ha usato i social network come Twitter per parlare di azioni, e chi, secondo i funzionari di regolamentazione negli Stati Uniti, cominciò a parlare di quanto fossero grandi certe azioni in modo che i loro ascoltatori e lettori fossero incoraggiati ad acquistarle. How about ‘bilking', as in ‘they bilked investors out of more than $100 milioni'.
Bene, A bilk is to cheat somebody out of money or property. ‘Bilk’ isn’t used so much in spoken English, ma lo vedrai usato negli articoli di giornale.
To bilk / Bilking. They bilked the investors out of their money.
Così, the story’s main point is that the ‘FinTwit’ influencers are accused of pumping up the prices, in modo da poter vendere con profitto. È illegale, quindi sono stati addebitati.
